Trailer for red sparrow12/7/2023 Please follow me and upvote my posts to help yourself stay up to date with everything that is nerdy and awesome. Not that I believe we will ever get a Black Widow movie after Ghost in The Shell The movie will come out in the U.S on March 2, 2018Ĭan I get my real Black Widow movie now please? For now, it seems like I can guess what everyone will say and do in this movie. Maybe the trailer is misleading (I didn’t read the book this is based on) and there is an interesting story in this movie and great characters. The characters to me feels like a movie cliché from 10 years ago. We can find nothing inspiring about her, unlike most of the previous women Jennifer Lawrence choose to portray. ![]() This may be directed by The Hunger Games director, Francis Lawrence, but Dominika Egorova is no Katniss Everdeen. I’m surprised Jennifer Lawrence even agreed to take this role. The ballerina dancing sequence is similar to that of Natasha Romanoff’s in Avengers: Age of Ultron, that’s the only similarity I found. The first full-length trailer for spy thriller Red Sparrow starring Jennifer Lawrence made waves when it hit the internet Monday, showing JLaw as a Russian ballerina recruited into espionage. This is all murderous femme fatale and zero cool kicking ass. Click right here for a previous trailer if you missed it.Let me tell you Scarlett Johansson can sleep peacefully at night, knowing that she is not part of this disaster. It is scheduled to be released on March 2, 2018. Dominika must now reconcile the person she was with the power she now commands, with her own life and everyone she cares about at risk, including an American CIA agent who tries to convince her he is the only person she can trust.ĭirected by Francis Lawrence, based on the novel of the same name written by Jason Matthews, Red Sparrow also stars Joel Edgerton, Matthias Schoenaerts, Charlotte Rampling, Mary-Louise Parker, and Jeremy Irons After enduring the perverse and sadistic training process, she emerges as the most dangerous Sparrow the program has ever produced. That is why she finds herself manipulated into becoming the newest recruit for Sparrow School, a secret intelligence service that trains exceptional young people like her to use their bodies and minds as weapons. When she suffers a career-ending injury, Dominika and her mother are facing a bleak and uncertain future. But her first mission, targeting a CIA agent, threatens to unravel the security of both nations. A master of seductive and manipulative combat. Ballerina Dominika Egorova is recruited to Sparrow School a Russian intelligence service where she is forced to use her body as a weapon. A prima ballerina whose ferocity has pushed her body and mind to the absolute limit. A devoted daughter determined to protect her mother at all costs. And even though we’ve seen these sessions play out before in other films, let’s just hope there is something about them in Red Sparrow that makes it stand out from the predecessors.ĭominika Egorova is many things. The brutality of her training to become these sparrows will also play a significant role in the film. Maybe it’s the way the trailer is cut, but it looks like she is playing everybody and the targets are nothing more than just pawns. Here we see that Lawrence’s character is trained too well. ![]() ![]() The film may not be as splashy as the neon-coated Atomic Blonde, which also had themes of infiltration and mistrust, but there is a badass female lead. ![]() Now Fox has released the latest trailer for the film, which reveals a little more of the plot and the circumstances that have led Lawrence’s character to becoming neck-deep in the spy game. And it just so happens that she is starring in Red Sparrow, where she plays as a Russian spy forced into the world of espionage in order to protect the mother she loves so dearly. Jennifer Lawrence is many things, but one thing we have yet to see her be is a full-fledged spy.
